Heartcraft Paper Gemma Valentine's Card

Hi everyone,

Today I am showing you my third creation that I made for Heartcraft Paper design team to show you all! Click on each image for a much larger and clearer view. 😊

Ok...so I know it isn't Valentine's Day but I've had this idea in my head that wouldn't go away, I just had to make the real life version and it is PERFECT for your loved ones whether it be friends or family and is possibly also a fan of a certain book and movie series. 😜.
Now lets see how I made it!

First I grabbed one piece of Neenah 110lb Classic Crest Solar White cardstock and cut it down to 8 1/2 inches by 5 1/2 inches with my Tim Holtz Maxi Trimmer and folded it in half while using my Teflon Bone Folder to make it fold nicely, this will be my card base. I then chose the digital stamp I wanted to use "Gemma" and cropped and resized it to about 3 3/4 inches wide by 2 3/4 inches tall on Word document and then printed it onto some X-Press It Blending Card so I could use my Copic markers.
After a couple of days of letting the ink set on the X-Press It Blending Card I grabbed the following Copic markers to colour in "Gemma" image (C3, C5, C7, B99, G29, Y17, YG67, R29, R32, R59, E18, E21, E29, E35, E37, E41 and E51). I then used a refillable black ink Copic Multiliner SP pen in the size 0.3mm to add some details to her tie.
I usually use my Brother Scan N Cut to do all the cutting out of images but it could not recognise the "Gemma" image so I had to carefully and slowly fussy cut by hand with scissors which I am terrible at due to having the shakes from my health and medication.
I used this awesome book background pattern digital scrapbook paper that is sold by WickedSpiritFashion on Etsy which you can find HERE. The file is a PDF, so I went to a free website that could convert PDF's to JPG's then opened up the image in a Word document and resized it to 5 inches by 6 inches so when I go to cut it down for my card base it leaves me with a bit extra to work with just in case I make a mistake. I ended up cutting it down to 5 1/4 inches by 3 9/16 inches.
I had this cute sentiment idea and created it myself with the help of a free downloadable font and image. I cropped and sized it to 2.75 inches wide and 1.67 tall in Word and then printed it onto some X-Press It Blending Card. I used my Sizzix Big Shot to cut the "You're my favourite chapter, Always" sentiment with My Favorite Things A2 Stitched Rectangle STAX Set 2 die (1 7/8" x 3 1/8").
I then found some 6x6 inch Lawn Fawn patterned paper in my craft room that would make a perfect carpet for "Gemma" to read on. I cut this down to 5 1/4 inches by 1/2 an inch.
I adhered all of the elements onto the card base with Tombow Mono Liquid Glue.

AVSC ~ Guest Designer 3rd Project Share ~ Love and Art ~ February 2018

Hi everyone,

I am so excited to show you my third and final project that I made for this month of "Love and Art" for Aunty Vera Scrap and Craft! 😊

I apologise for the terrible photo quality. 😞 No video today, but I have a lot of photos to show you all.

First I cut my card base at 8 1/2 by 5 1/2 inch and scored and folded at 4 1/4 inch.

I then cut out the background at 4 1/4 by 5 1/2 inch and I used 2 rectangle dies to cut out the frame ( 4 1/8 x 5 3/8" and 3 1/2 x 4 3/4" ) which is a die set called A2 Rectangle STAX Set 1 made by My Favorite Things. I used Crate Paper's Heart Day Dreamy patterned paper for the background and frame.

I cut out some acetate for the shaker window at 4 by 5 1/2 inch.

I used some 1/4 inch Scor Tape to adhere the background onto the card base and the acetate window behind the frame.

I added some 3D Foam Strips to the back of the frame and went around the inside edges with my EK Success powder tool to remove the stickiness so my sequins won't get stuck to the sides.

I added some pretty iridescent sequins in pink and green and then adhered the frame onto the card base.

I used Scor Tape to adhere the cute pair of pears which is from Crate Paper's Main Squeeze ephemera pack.
I decided to add some shimmer to the tiny love hearts, pears cheeks and leaves with my Wink of Stella clear brush pen.
And here is the finished card! 😄

Battle of the Stampers: Monthly Stamp Off ~ February

Hi everyone,

The lovely and talented Marcia from The Frolicking Fairy and I have decided we'd like to collaborate once every month for 2018 but with a twist! Instead of just collaborating together we are also COMPETING against each other!? What!? 😮
We've both agreed and chosen a stamp set we both own, the chosen set for this month will be announced below in this blog post but the rules of this fun competitive battle are as follows:
•Decide on a stamp or stamp set (that you both own), the theme or style (if any) and number of projects
•NO sharing ideas with the other person
•Can not see the other person's creations until ready to publish online

This collaboration will help Marcia and myself to get our craft mojo going and is also a fun way of seeing what each of us come up with. It's amazing what 2 people can do with just 1 main stamp or stamp set! So many ideas and unique creations!

Enough of my blabbing on...lets see what set we both decided to work with! 😄

How cute is this set!?

For this month we decided on Mama Elephant's Lunar Animals. We agreed to use the characters from the set as well as other stamp elements from other stamp sets in our craft stash that were also by Mama Elephant.

I decided to make a cute and simple Valentine's Day card for this month. I have used Lunar Animals, Sketchy Letters and Little Edibles. 😊

And that's a wrap for myself and Marcia's first month of Battle of the Stampers: Monthly Stamp Off!
Thank you so much for stopping by to see my first stamp off project! If you'd like to see what Marcia came up with, just click here.
Feel free to let me know what you think of this card in the comments below. 😊
