Birthday Card and Thank You Tag

Hi everyone,

I haven't posted on my blog here in a while (sorry) but I thought this would be the best platform to tell the story behind these creations I made for a crafty friend of mine I met this year through Instagram.

I was cleaning my 5 year old rabbit, Casper's FAVOURITE food/treat bowl in the bathroom one morning in early June 2019 and it just slipped right out of my hands onto the tiled bathroom floor and smashed into a couple of big pieces and a lot of very tiny pieces.

Sadly they do not sell this bowl in Australia (where I live) anymore. I bought the bowl in 2014 when I first got Casper.

So I was on a mission to find Casper's favourite bowl but failed until my Mum found it and showed me it online. I was squealing happily when she found it only to find out that they DON'T ship to Australia. 😞

I then had an idea...I decided to ask a crafty friend I met online who lives in the USA (where the bowl is located) if she could do me a huge favour and purchase and pack and ship to me. I told her I would pay for the bowls and postage to Australia and she happily agreed to help me out. It might be ridiculous to some people but...I purchased 10 bowls for Casper in case of any future accidents, I'd always have a back up. LOL! 😄

Casper isn't any ordinary "normal" type of rabbit...he gets attached to things a bit like us humans do. So when he heard me scream when I accidentally broke his favourite bowl and had to show him what happened he was very depressed for days and had to use a temporary food bowl which he would refuse to eat out of and I didn't know rabbits could cry but he was crying real sad tears. 😞
What made it worse is that his bowl broke only a couple of days before his 5th birthday.

Fast forward a few days, Samantha (my crafty online USA friend) got all of the bowls and shipped to me and mentioned her birthday was coming up which was a "hint hint, wink wink" situation. 😜

So I got a list of her favourite things (colours and animals) and came up with something for her birthday card and then had to create something even more special and I was so happy I had the stamps to create what I had in mind.

I made a double sided tag with a bunny representing Casper on each side looking happy, thankful and grateful with a "I Can't Thank You Enough" sentiment and some raining carrots and turnips that represent Casper's favourite food bowl on one side and the other side with some gems/jewels and the sentiment "You're A Gem".
The "You're A Gem" represents after she agreed to get me the bowls and me telling her that she was a gem which made her so happy because no one had ever said that to her before.

What Does The Fox Say? ~ Jo's Scrap Shack

Hi everyone,

Today I want to show you all a card I made for Jo's Scrap Shack Fun-Day Friday Challenge #278.
I had quite a lot of fun creating this card as I got to do some colouring, die cutting and making coloured backgrounds.

The theme is "Anything Goes" and the sponsor for this week is Imagine That Digi Stamp. The lucky winner will win a $12 coupon to the Imagine That Digi Stamp online store.

Ok lets see how I made my card. 😊

First I grabbed one piece of Neenah 110lb Classic Crest Solar White cardstock and cut it down to 8 1/2 inches by 5 1/2 inches with my Fiskars Rotary Paper Trimmer and folded it in half while using my Teflon Bone Folder to make it fold nicely, this will be my card base.

I also cut a piece of Neenah 80lb Classic Crest Solar White cardstock with the same trimmer down to 4 1/4 inches by 5 1/2 inches, this will be my card front.

I chose to work with Foxy Thang from Imagine That Digi Stamp which you can get HERE. I used the "Foxy on Stump" image, "What does the fox say?" and "Hello friend" sentiments and resized the "Foxy on Stump" image to about 3 3/8 inches by 2 7/8 inches and the "What does the fox say?" sentiment to about 3 1/2 inches by 1 1/2 inches and the "Hello friend" sentiment to about 1 inch by 1/2 an inch on a Word document and printed out onto some A5 sized X-Press It Blending Card.

I coloured the "Foxy on Stump" image with Copic Markers and Chameleon Markers.
Copics: C1, V17, YR15 and E37.
Chameleons: BG4, GR3, OR4 and PR4.
I added some Sakura black glaze pen to the fox's nose to give some dimension and some Sakura white gelly roll to add some "shine" to the fox's eyes.
I also added some shimmer with a Clear Wink of Stella brush pen to the fox's eyes and the white parts of the tail and body. Also to the purple flowers and the green leaves on the tree stump.
I then used my Brother Scan N Cut machine to cut the "Foxy on Stump" image out with a 0.04" offset.

I die cut "What does the fox say?" with a My Favorite Things die called Stitched Fishtail Flags STAX ( 1 3/4” x 6” ) and altered it using my Sizzix Big Shot.

I used a speech bubble stamp from a Studio L2E stamp set called Point It (I think it is now retired but you can find other similar stamp sets with speech bubbles from Lawn Fawn or Heffy Doodle for example) over the top of the "Hello friend" sentiment using my Tim Holtz Stamp Platform and some Versafine Onyx Black ink. I used my Brother Scan N Cut again with the 0.04" offset to cut out the speech bubble.

I used a small cheap makeup blending brush with some Simon Hurley Create ink in the colour Over The Moon for the speech bubble and the large brush with Simon Hurley Create ink in the colour Overzealous for the card front/background and the colour Clear Skies for the "What does the fox say?" sentiment flag.
The green background is meant to represent the grass while the blue is meant to represent the sky.

I adhered the card front onto the card base with my Pink ATG Gun as well as the "What does the fox say?" sentiment and the "Foxy on Stump" image. I used some Scotch 3D Foam Tape to adhere the "Hello friend" sentiment onto the card front.

And that's a wrap for my What Does The Fox Say? card for Jo's Scrap Shack Design Team!

Heartcraft Paper ~ You're A Rare Find

Hi everyone,

Today I am showing you my second creation that I made for Heartcraft Paper design team to show you all! Click on each image for a much larger and clearer view. 😊 I do apologise in advance for the not so great quality photos for this blog post, I was mucking around with my camera and accidentally changed the settings and forgot to switch it back.

Ok...lets have a look at what I made! 😄
Now lets see how I made it!

First I grabbed one piece of Neenah 110lb Classic Crest Solar White cardstock and cut it down to 8 1/2 inches by 5 1/2 inches with my Tim Holtz Maxi Trimmer and folded it in half while using my Teflon Bone Folder to make it fold nicely, this will be my card base. I then chose the digital stamp I wanted to use "Pegasus Prance" and cropped and resized it to about 3 3/4 inches wide by 2 3/4 inches tall on Word document and then printed it onto some X-Press It Blending Card so I could use my Copic markers.
After a couple of days of letting the ink set on the X-Press It Blending Card I grabbed the following Copic markers to colour in "Pegasus Prance" image (V01, V12 and V17).
I grabbed a piece of blue cardstock and cut it down to 6x6 inches with my Tim Holtz Maxi Trimmer.
I then used an Echo Park 6x6 inch stencil from the Imagine That range which is called Sweet Dreams.
I used the Viva Decor Glitter-Paste in Holo Iridescent with my Prima Finnabair Art Basics Mixed Media 2 inch silicone brush with the stencil onto the blue cardstock to add some sparkle and to create a really fun background.
I cut a piece of Bazzill Basics Mylar paper in the colour Blue down to 5 1/2 inches by 4 1/4 inches which will be my card front. I used a My Favorite Things A2 Stitched Rectangle STAX Set 2 die (5 1/4" x 4") with my Sizzix Big Shot to cut out the sparkly cloud background which will go on top of the Mylar paper. I adhered the background onto the Mylar paper with 1/4" Scor Tape.
I used some scrap piece of X-Press It Blending Card and coloured it in with a Copic marker (B00) and then I used a stamp set from Beth Duff Designs called Seas the Day to stamp out the sentiment "You're a rare find" with my Tim Holtz travel platform using a My Favorite Things Hybrid Ink in Black Licorice. I then trimmed it down with my Tim Holtz 8.5" Trimmer. I adhered the sentiment with some Scotch 3D Foam Tape to make it 'POP' from the card.
I used my Brother Scan N Cut to cut out the "Pegasus Prance" image and then cut out a silhouette image of "Pegasus Prance" with the Mylar paper with a 0.04" offset. I adhered the coloured and silhouette version of the "Pegasus Prance" image with Tombow Mono Liquid Glue.
